TVFMI™ Titanium Vocal Fold Medializing Implant (Friedrich design)
Designed for external vocal fold medialization using an operative approach developed, simplified and standardized by Prof. Gerhard Friedrich M.D. (Graz, Austria). Because of its cleverly simple and precisely engineered design, the TVFMI™ implant makes a vast multiplicity of shapes and sizes redundant. In fact, just two sizes (one for men, one for women) suffice to develop the variety of adaptations that may be required during surgery. For rare cases a special small size (11 mm) is additionaly avaiable.
Because the implant is preformed, there can be a significant reduction in operative time. This can be critical for obtaining optimal results due to reduced intralaryngeal edema and bleeding. Utilization of these implants can keep inventory levels to a minimum.
